In 2008, the Friends of Ballona Wetlands asked Huell Howser to MC the Moonlight on the Marsh celebration at Ballona. He of course said yes, with his usual exuberance: “Why of course, I’d love to!”
Walking him through the Ballona Freshwater Marsh that night was such a delight. He had never been, and marveled at what had been accomplished.

Then came time to MC our event in the Saltmarsh.
Never have the Friends had such a gracious, charismatic host. Huell made the night extra special with his wit, charm, contagious smile and signature enthusiasm!
We are so grateful that Huell came to the Ballona Wetlands to celebrate with the Friends.
Rest in peace, Huell – you will be missed, but not forgotten, by so many.
